PLEASE WRITE DOWN YOUR MASS INTENTIONS AND PREFERED DAYS AND SUBMIT THEM TO THE OFFICE BY HAND, MAIL, OR IN THE PLATE. WE NO LONGER TAKE APPOINTMENTS TO SCHEDULE MASSES. THE MASS INTENTION BOOKS ARE PRIVATE AND CAN'T BE REVIEWED BY THE PUBLIC.
Starting January 1, 2026, we will only accept from a donor one Mass per month for the same intention for a 12 month period. We can no longer take date requests. Although we cannot guarantee a specific time, you may request the time of Mass you prefer. Depending on demand of specific Mass times, requesting a time could delay your Mass being scheduled.
The practice of requesting a Mass to be offered for loved ones, living, or deceased, is a beautiful and meaningful part of our Catholic tradition. In our Parish, there are many requests for scheduling such Mass intentions. Sacred Heart has only a certain amount of Mass intention opportunities. The following policies have been implemented in order to accommodate numerous requests in a reasonable and fair manner.
Please note the following guidelines for Mass intention requests:
1. Requests will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis in the order in which the request is received in the Parish Office.
2. A $10 stipend, as determined by diocesan policy, is to accompany each Mass request before it can be recorded in the Mass Intention Book. We cannot hold "dates." If you wish a Mass to be offered but cannot afford the stipend, please contact the pastor.
3. Mass intentions may be requested for Sundays, most holidays and weekdays throughout the year.
4. One Mass every Sunday must be scheduled for the intentions of our parishioners known as “Pro Populo” (For the People) as required by Canon Law and diocesan statute.
5. SPECIAL DAYS: Mass intentions cannot be scheduled for:
- Holy Thursday - Intention is for the “Bishops & Priests of the Diocese, living and deceased.”.
- Mothers’ Day - Intention is for “All mothers of the parish, living and deceased.”
- Father’s Day - Intention is for “All fathers of the parish, living and deceased.”
- All Souls’ Day (November 2) - Intention is for “All the faithful departed.”
6. Due to an unforeseen circumstance a Mass cancellation occurs, the intention for the Mass will be rescheduled on the next available opening.
